About the Kuranda Heritage Markets
The Kuranda Heritage Markets has been established for over 20 years and is all weather covered meaning you can enjoy the picturesque rainforest surrounds at the Heritage Markets all year round.

A visit to Tropical North Queensland isn’t complete without taking in the famous markets in Kuranda. With traditional market stalls retailing souvenir's, arts and crafts and fashion items made in the local region the market's also feature many handcrafted Aboriginal items so you can take away a special piece of ancient Australiana.

The Kuranda Heritage Markets are also set in the picturesque natural rainforest and are open plan designed so while you explore and shop, you'll be on the doorstep of a world heritage listed rainforest. The Kuranda Heritage Markets are also home to the Kuranda Wildlife Experience where you can enjoy a combined day visiting Kuranda Koala Gardens, Birdworld Kuranda and the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary.

Some of the friendlier and more human oriented animals also make a part of the markets with regular interactions with exotic birdlife and the unique water dragons that tend to fraternise with patrons.

Because the Kuranda Heritage Markets are so big and knowing that visitors want to take it all in at their own leisure, we have a highly acclaimed licensed restaurant called Frogs, where you can stop for an a la carte meal or just a coffee and cake whilst still being amidst the natural wonder of the rainforest and friendly animal life.
